WageTick
See what your working time is earning, live.
software.basilbase.wagetickThe short version. WageTick does not collect, share or transmit any data. The jobs, hourly rates and work sessions you enter stay on your phone. The app has no internet permission, no accounts, no analytics and no crash reporting.
WageTick's manifest does not request INTERNET or
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE. An Android app without INTERNET cannot open a
network connection; the operating system refuses. You can confirm this on the Play listing's
permission list or by inspecting the app bundle.
There are no third-party SDKs. The app uses Google's AndroidX, Jetpack Compose, Material, Navigation, DataStore and Kotlin serialization libraries, which run entirely on the device.
| Permission | What it is for | Without it |
|---|---|---|
POST_NOTIFICATIONS |
Showing the running amount and time in a notification. Asked for only when you turn Show in notification on. You can revoke it at any time in Android settings. | No notification. The counter inside the app keeps working. |
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED |
Putting the notification back after the phone restarts, if a session was still running and the notification was on. Nothing else happens at start-up. | The notification returns only when you next open the app. |
software.basilbase.wagetick.DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION |
Added automatically by the AndroidX core library: a signature-level permission private to WageTick that stops other apps sending it internal broadcasts. Never shown to you; gives no access to any data. | — |
There is no internet, network state, storage, photos, camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, account, phone or SMS permission, no usage access, no accessibility service, no overlay and no exact alarms. Saving and opening files uses Android's file picker, which needs no permission.
These live in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read.
No usage times, no logs of when the app was opened, and no location. Weekly and monthly statistics are calculated from the history each time they are shown, not stored separately.
If you place the widget on your home screen, it shows the selected job, the running time and the amount to anyone who can see your home screen. The Quick Settings tile shows the job name and whether it is counting. Both are optional and read only the app's own data.
WageTick turns Android backup off. Its data is excluded from cloud backup and from device-to-device transfer, so your pay figures do not leave the phone that way either. On a new phone you start empty.
WageTick collects no data from anyone, children included. It is a general-purpose tool for working people and is not directed at children.
There is no server, so there is nothing for us to retain. In the app, Settings → Delete all data removes every job, session and setting at once and stops a running counter; single sessions can be deleted in History. Uninstalling the app, or Clear storage in Android's app settings, removes everything.
If a future version ever collects or transmits data, this policy will be updated before that version is published. Updated versions are published at this URL with a new date at the top.
