The short version

VoxMend turns your speech into text on your phone while you dictate, and lets you correct it before you copy or send it. What you say and write never leaves the device through VoxMend. There is no account, no analytics and no crash reporting. VoxMend has no internet permission.

The verifiable version

VoxMend's manifest does not request INTERNET or ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE; it explicitly removes them. An Android app cannot open a network connection without INTERNET — the operating system refuses. You can confirm this in the Play listing's permission list or by inspecting the APK.

Speech models are downloaded once by the Google Play Store app through Play Asset Delivery, not by VoxMend. Google Play handles that download under Google's own privacy policy; VoxMend sends nothing with it.

VoxMend also offers, but never forces:

A voice keyboard. Only you can turn it on, in Android's keyboard settings; Android shows its standard warning that a keyboard can see what you type. VoxMend's keyboard only dictates. It does not work in password fields. Text it sends into another app is a copy of what you dictated; what that app keeps is up to that app.
A speech recogniser for other apps. Apps that ask Android for speech input can use VoxMend if you choose it. VoxMend listens only for that one request and returns the text to the app that asked. Nothing from these requests is saved by VoxMend.

VoxMend does not request storage permissions. Text files and word lists you save go only where you choose in the system file picker.

What VoxMend does not do

It does not listen unless you tap the microphone (in the editor, the voice keyboard or another app's speech button) and never starts listening by itself, on a schedule or when the phone starts.
It does not record sound to a file. Sound is held in memory only while it is being recognised and is dropped afterwards.
It does not translate, rewrite or "improve" what you say, and it does not send text anywhere. Sharing happens only when you use the Share button, and goes to the app you pick.
It does not keep text typed or dictated in password fields, or in fields that ask keyboards not to learn (private or incognito fields).
It does not use your location, contacts, camera, calendar, phone, SMS or accounts, and does not request those permissions.
It contains no analytics, advertising, attribution, telemetry or crash-reporting SDK.
It has no login, no account and no cloud storage.
It does not use your text or voice to train any model.

What is stored on your device

App private storage is readable only by VoxMend. Deliberately not stored: sound recordings, usage statistics, location, device identifiers, the names of the apps you dictate into.

Backup

Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for VoxMend: saved texts, your words and settings are not backed up. To move your words to another phone, use My words › Save as file, which writes a JSON file where you choose; it is not encrypted.

Deleting your data

Delete one saved text, or all of them, in Saved texts.
Delete a word in My words.
Remove a speech model in Model and languages › Remove.
Uninstalling VoxMend deletes all app private storage (saved texts, words, settings, models). Files you saved with the file picker stay until you delete them.

Children

VoxMend is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone.

Changes

If VoxMend's behaviour changes in a way that affects this policy, the policy is updated before that version is published and the date above changes.
